Project Title: LiveBit

Project Description: My project is based in Shoreditch, London, one of the buildings is a grade 1 listed building which means nothing can be done to it structurally. The mezzanine floor you see in the visuals is not touching the walls of the church to allow for another level and does not damage the existing walls. I converted St Michael’s and All Angel’s church and the adjoining building into a Co-living space for Fitbit. The church was the main office area for all employees including the ones who do not live in the adjoining building where the rooms, communal area and gym are located. I chose to do a co-living space due to working and living within the same area/building has become the new normal after Covid-19, it gives people the freedom to work in different environments which is best for them. Furthermore, it has become common for employees to work out during their lunch breaks and then grab lunch on the way back and eat it at their desks. This allows for this, with the gym covering the ground and basement level of the adjoining building. One of Fitbits main values is sustainability, which was thought of and inspired throughout the design, a lot of the materials are sustainability friendly as well as having real plants or ‘living’ walls around the areas to help boost productivity and provide a better working environment for all employees.
